As a wedding photographer for those with vintage hearts, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and photograph some incredibly cool clients. Kaity and Jeff are at the top of that list. From the moment I read through their client questionnaire, I knew I was in for a treat and I was right! Their vintage-inspired New Year’s Eve wedding at La Chinesca in Philadelphia is one I won’t soon forget.

La Chinesca is Philadelphia’s only Mexicali restaurant, known for its unique Mexican-Chinese fusion cuisine and intimate environment. Housed in a former Jiffy Lube, it’s a restaurant like no other. This unique wedding venue is the perfect place to host retro-themed weddings like Kaity and Jeff’s. Before wedding planning consumed their time, this lovely couple enjoyed exploring vintage shops & finding new places to eat. A more fitting venue for their retro-themed wedding simply does not exist! I highly recommend this venue to other couples looking for an intimate, carefree, and artsy location that complements a fun, unique day.

This couple poured their heart and soul into planning every detail of their big day. Not only did the venue align perfectly with their trendy, playful vibe, but their celebration was packed with stylish touches that will inspire 2026 weddings. Jeff’s hand-tied ribbon is a trend I foresee becoming more popular in the coming year. Sheet cakes like the one they shared at their reception are another trend I expect to grow. The pops of red throughout the ceremony and reception will undoubtedly make this wedding unforgettable. Did you see Kaity’s bold lipstick and the handwritten mirror signs? Iconic!

While the event had the high-end aesthetic of one you’d expect in LA or NYC, it was filled with details that felt so personal to Kaity and Jeff. From including Cards Against Humanity cards in their detail shots to Kaity’s dress, which perfectly blended vintage and modern styles, every part of their day was a reflection of their personalities. And let’s talk about those pearls on her bodice—they were simply stunning! Their live painter painted the scene of their reception & it was such a beautiful way. This wedding was a total vibe from start to finish.

When the stars align and I connect with clients whose vibe matches mine, the result is pure magic. Kaity and Jeff’s vintage aesthetic paired perfectly with my editorial approach to wedding photography. I was thrilled to use my flash techniques to give their photos a vintage feel! The end result was a digital gallery of grainy (in the best way) modern images with the aesthetic of a bygone era.

This New Year’s Eve wedding was truly unforgettable, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. Seeing Kaity and Jeff as happy with their photos as I was with capturing their day made the experience even sweeter. Here’s what Kaity had to say:
“We couldn’t be happier with choosing Brittany as our wedding photographer. She photographed our NYE wedding where she perfectly captured the vintage & timeless vibes we had envisioned. My husband and I don’t have experience in being in front of the camera, but Brittany made us feel so comfortable. I am always shocked at how well she captures us on camera. We have gotten so many compliments on our photos from friends and family. If you’re looking for a photographer who just gets it, hire Brittany.”
