When I arrived at the TWA hotel in New York City for this vintage engagement session I truly felt like I stepped back into the 1960’s. Out front there is a line up of classic cars, and when you step inside you are whisked away into a mid-century modern fever dream. When I first arrived to Eddie & Maggie’s room, we went through all of their amazing retro outfit and accessory options. Once they were dressed, it was time to play… and I mean I feel like we were all in a movie. It was so fun directing not only poses, but mini stories to give this editorial engagement session a cinematic touch. We started in the Twister room and the monochromatic pink hair salon set inside the Iconic TWA hotel.

One of my favorite parts of this TWA hotel engagement session was shooting with “Connie” the airplane outside of the TWA hotel. The fully restored 1958 airplane sits right on the tarmac. It operates as a cocktail lounge and makes for a spectacular, one-of-a-kind wedding photo backdrop.

If you want a photos with vintage vibes, a curated wardrobe makes all the difference. Sunglasses, classic 60’s fits for him and her, and a Beach Boys purse added for maximum 60’s vintage pilot vibes and we hit the tarmac with not only style but a story. I wanted to emulate the feeling of a long distance relationship reunion on the tarmac.
